The Council’s reports about the Cycleway 4 Lower Road (C4LR) and Rotherhithe Cycleway (RCW) consultations are out and its great news with Lower Road changes getting ~70% support and Rotherhithe Cycleway getting ~78% support. RCW will now move to detailed design then construction later in 2020 and C4LR will have some further consultation to look at some issues raised. This should be completed by Autumn.
This is a huge step to wards unlocking the active travel potential of Rotherhithe and I want to say a huge thank you to all who came out to leaflet with us. It had a real impact and ensured the community could share their views on the schemes. Those views were overwhelmingly supporting these massive gains for walking and cycling.
The work and effort over everyone who supported the scheme and helped us leaflet is making a real change to Southwark. We hope going forward we can do even more.
