We’re starting a new project with SafeCycleLDN to identify wayfinding-led routes that TfL could easily deliver. These are routes that simply require wayfinding, or perhaps minor interventions, such as dropped kerbs making pavements shared-space, or modification of a gate. Links between LTNs, as long as they don’t require complete junction redesigns, can be included too. We've made a start with some provisional ideas but we want to see your suggestions.
Below is a link to a Google Map that can be edited (you may need to be logged in to Google). If you have some ideas, simply mark them down on the map. We can then mark it up neatly on the official map. If you can’t edit the map or are having trouble using it, contact Jakub at jakub.mamczak@lcc.org.uk. Either email Jakub or put a note in the comments of your edits with your name, just so we know who’s making the suggestions in case we have some clarifying questions. If you're feeling more ambitious and want to put it on neatly, here's the key: - Thick lines - Protected cycle lanes (segregated from road traffic)
- Thin lines - Unprotected cycle lanes (connecting protected sections of cycle track)
- Dark blue - Protected permanent cycle lanes
- Light blue - Pop-up cycle lanes (temporary sections of protected cycle lane)
- Red - Required intervention for suggested route (please explain what intervention required in description box)
- Orange - Shared space with pedestrians - Speed is often limited and there are sections where cyclists must dismount
- Green - Shared space routes through parks that are closed at night
- Brown - New routes under construction
- Pink - New routes in consultation
- Blue boxes - Low-traffic neighbourhoods
**This is a Nice to Do task. Please only do it if you have time to spare.** |
